Kingpin 13

The Marker Kingpin addresses the power transfer issues that powerful (heavier) skiers tend to have with lighter tech bindings; looking at the binding it seems to have a tech front and an alpine rear. It's the rear where the power transfer was improved, the binding doesn't rely on 2 small pins 20mm apart, rather it clamps the boot like an alpine binding does. This in conjunction with the wide (38mm) mounting pattern means none of your power will be wasted, whether you feel this is relevant to you and worth carting the extra weight uphill only you can answer. It's also got six springs at the front rather than the more usual four, which does look good....Fully tested by Germany's TUV organisation meaning the DIN/ISO values are certified. Here's what Marker have to say, "Introducing a high performance, innovative alpine touring binding; Marker's Kingpin redefines the standard in PinTech binding technology. Developed for a wide range of skiing environments, the Kingpin is a standout product in three key areas: added Protection and safety Performance via optimal power transmission and Comfort in the form of easy operation in both ski and walk mode."
