Factor 130

No changes for the Factor 130, the stiffest freeride boot Black Diamond make; essentially they refined the original Factor, giving the 130 a smoother flex and new liners which have better articulation and improved warmth. The list of changes to the liners was extensive; metalized foil and Aero-gel in the Strobel base address the warmth issues as does the seam taped toe box construction. The tongue (of the liner) is now plastic for better stiffness distribution and it results in a more even forward flex. The outer fabric of the liner has been changed to allow easier thermoforming. The BD last remains similar to the older boot and gives excellent heel grip with enough room for your toes so they aren't scrunched. The triple-injection, multi-density construction of the triax frame creates a non-mechanical, progressive flex, independent of tongue stiffness, resulting in smooth power transfer and superb lateral stiffness. The Factor comes with BD Alpine sole block as standard. The AT soles are available for 30 quid. These boots are right up there with the Garmont Delirium as some of the best freeride orientated, touring boots available.
